Historique

History
Church designed by architect Laumonier, taking place within an urban ensemble around the newly created village square. In 1831, architect Dominique Dedaux takes over the project by modifying it. He moves the bell tower behind the choir and modifies the façade, creates corner chapels with serliana and the coffered barrel vault of the nave. The works are carried out between 1831 and 1834. It is a neo-classical building in the antique style, with a basilical plan without transept. Inside, a colonnade supports an entablature while two aisles receive a ceiling and a choir with ambulatory shelters a Roman altar. The building is representative of the current of the school of diocesan architects who take as their model, simplifying them, the Parisian programmes of the years 1820-1830. The mural decoration is carried out between 1890 and 1892, and completed in 1895.
