History
The Mortagne Racecourse was created by imperial decree in 1862. The present stands were erected in the early 20th century. They comprise a grandstand of honour and two lateral stands. These stands, in wood, preserve particularly carefully executed decorative details: friezes of carved wood and roof cresting in lead. In the night of 15 to 16 July 2025, the railings of the stands were vandalized, by tearing off a large part of the balusters and the structure. The commune, as owner, filed a complaint with the gendarmerie.
