Sa construction débute en 1679 et s'achève en 1683, à la même période que le chantier des remparts, et qui aboutit à faire de Maubeuge une place forte du Pré Carré. History
Its construction began in 1679 and was completed in 1683, at the same time as the work on the ramparts, which resulted in making Maubeuge a stronghold of the Pré Carré.
