Historique
L'archevêché de Cambrai fait appel en 1964 à l'architecte Guillaume Gillet, dont la notoriété se fonde alors sur la réalisation toute récente de l'église Notre-Dame de Royan (1954-1958). La pose de la première pierre de la chapelle de Vieux-Condé a lieu le 5 juillet 1964 après quatre années passées à récolter les fonds nécessaires à la réalisation de cette construction par un comité local. Le chantier a été achevé en 1968. Le bâtiment sinscrit dans un plan carré dont lun des angles est réservé au chur. Le clocher surplombe lédifice en son centre. Au-dessus des murs de béton peint en blanc, lélévation alterne rondins de bois verticaux et vitres colorées. La chapelle a été rétrocédée à la commune en 1994.

History
The Archbishopric of Cambrai called upon architect Guillaume Gillet in 1964, whose reputation was then based on the very recent construction of the church Notre-Dame de Royan (1954-1958). The laying of the foundation stone of the chapel of Vieux-Condé took place on 5 July 1964 after four years spent raising the necessary funds for the realisation of this construction by a local committee. The work was completed in 1968. The building follows a square plan, one of the angles of which is reserved for the choir. The bell tower overhangs the building at its centre. Above the walls of concrete painted white, the elevation alternates vertical wooden logs and coloured glazing. The chapel was transferred back to the commune in 1994.
