A partir des projets proposés par M. Marquette, architecte et inspecteur des beaux-arts à Paris, puis par Louis Six, le théâtre a été édifié de 1901 à 1912. En 1911, Victor Lhomme, artiste-peintre lillois, a réalisé les peintures de la salle (tympan du plafond) et du foyer des premières galeries (trois panneaux à huile sur toile marouflée). Les verrières des escaliers et les dorures sont de Pierre Turpin. Des annexes ont été construites en 1925 par l'architecte Trannoy.

History
Based on the projects proposed by M. Marquette, architect and inspector of fine arts in Paris, then by Louis Six, the theatre was built from 1901 to 1912. In 1911, Victor Lhomme, Lille painter-artist, created the paintings of the auditorium (tympanum of the ceiling) and the foyer of the first galleries (three oil panels on canvas mounted). The glazing of the staircases and the gilding are by Pierre Turpin. Annexes were built in 1925 by architect Trannoy.
