En 1785, la ville avait décidé de construire une nouvelle salle de spectacle dont l'architecte était Lequeux. En 1903, la salle fut ravagée par un grand incendie. La commune décida la construction d'un théâtre provisoire dont Léonce Hainez, architecte du théâtre Sébastopol, est l'auteur. En 1907, l'architecte Louis-Marie Cordonnier construisit le nouveau théâtre, en béton armé, dans le style néo-classique. History
In 1785, the city had decided to build a new theatre building of which the architect was Lequeux. In 1903, the theatre was devastated by a great fire. The commune decided the construction of a provisional theatre of which Léonce Hainez, architect of the Sébastopol theatre, is the author. In 1907, architect Louis-Marie Cordonnier built the new theatre, in reinforced concrete, in neo-classical style.
