L'ensemble de ce rang entre la rue Colbert et la rue Charles-Quint se compose de 17 façades, réparties entre les n° 52 et 88 (à l'exception des n° 80 et 82, trop défigurés). Cette succession d'immeubles témoigne de l'homogénéité de ce type d'habitat urbain, destiné aux grandes familles bourgeoises et industrielles situé sur l'une des artères les plus résidentielles de la ville, l'ancien boulevard de Paris. Ce dernier, qui faisait l'union entre les quartiers périurbains et le centre ville était construit sur l'ancien tracé du canal de Roubaix. Ces hôtels, construits pour la plupart par les architectes Dupire-Rozan et Dupire-Deschamps, sont d'une grande richesse architecturale et décorative, déclinant sur clefs, écoinçons, cartouches, frontons et lucarnes les termes d'un vocabulaire de la Renaissance ou du classicisme revisités. The ensemble of this row between rue Colbert and rue Charles-Quint consists of 17 facades, distributed among numbers 52 to 88 (with the exception of numbers 80 and 82, too disfigured). This succession of buildings testifies to the homogeneity of this type of urban housing, intended for great bourgeois and industrial families located on one of the most residential thoroughfares of the city, the former boulevard de Paris.
