Historique
L'hôtel Motte-Lagache, construit vers 1880, est le seul témoignage d'hôtel entre cour et jardin conservé sur cette partie du boulevard. Actuellement siège du C.P.L.E. de Roubaix, il fut construit pour la famille Voreux, certainement par l'architecte Dupire. La façade, ouverte sur la cour et visible du boulevard, est à trois niveaux ; sa composition est homogène et équilibrée. La façade arrière comporte une travée centrale semi-circulaire encadrée de deux ailes rectilignes. Comme la façade principale, l'arrière de l'édifice est constitué d'un parement de briques rouges souligné par des encadrements constitués de moellons de pierre blanche. A l'intérieur, le hall d'entrée, prolongé par un escalier monumental en pierre dessert des salons. Trois d'entre eux conservent des dispositions intéressantes : le salon de musique à l'exceptionnel décor de boiseries peintes reprenant le vocabulaire de l'antique, le salon vert et la bibliothèque.

History
The Motte-Lagache hotel, built around 1880, is the only surviving example of a hotel between courtyard and garden preserved on this part of the boulevard. Currently the headquarters of the C.P.L.E. of Roubaix, it was built for the Voreux family, certainly by architect Dupire. The façade, opening onto the courtyard and visible from the boulevard, has three storeys; its composition is homogeneous and balanced. The rear façade comprises a semi-circular central bay framed by two rectilinear wings. Like the main façade, the rear of the building is constructed of red brickwork highlighted by casings made of white stone rubble. Inside, the entrance hall, extended by a monumental stone staircase, leads to the reception rooms. Three of them retain interesting arrangements: the music room with its exceptional painted woodwork decoration drawing on the vocabulary of antiquity, the green room and the library.
