Historique
Première mention d'une maison-Dieu à Commercy en 1403. Hôpital actuel construit en deux étapes : 1716-1720, pour le bâtiment principal sur l'avenue et la chapelle, avec le concours de l'architecte du château Dom Léopold Durand (entrepreneur Antoine Carbonart) ; 1739-1740, achèvement de l'église sous la direction de Letixerant. En 1816, construction d'un bâtiment à gauche de la chapelle (école, pensionnat). Du milieu du 19e siècle à nos jours, importantes extensions qui n'ont jamais altéré les bâtiments du 18e siècle. Le bâtiment principal comprend deux corps disposés en T. La chapelle (incorporée dans la moitié ouest du corps principal) comporte un vaisseau unique flanqué de galeries à deux niveaux d'arcades. Le corps perpendiculaire abrite les communs, la pharmacie et les salles communes.

History
First mention of a maison-Dieu at Commercy in 1403. Current hospital constructed in two stages: 1716-1720, for the main building on the avenue and the chapel, with the assistance of the château architect Dom Léopold Durand (contractor Antoine Carbonart); 1739-1740, completion of the church under the direction of Letixerant. In 1816, construction of a building to the left of the chapel (school, boarding school). From the middle of the 19th century to the present day, major extensions which have never altered the 18th-century buildings. The main building comprises two bodies arranged in a T-shape. The chapel (incorporated into the western half of the main body) has a single nave flanked by galleries with two levels of arcading. The perpendicular body houses the service areas, pharmacy and common rooms.
