Des relevés dendrochronologiques ont permis de révéler que la majeure partie du château a été construite à la limite du 16e et du 17e siècles. Adoménil sert très tôt de maison de campagne périurbaine, proche de la cour ducale de Lunéville. Vers 1677, la mention d'un chapelain indique la présence d'une chapelle. L'emprise foncière n'a guère changé depuis le cadastre de 1839 à l'exception de l'accroissement du château en deux campagnes successives à la fin du 19e et au début du 20 siècle. La plus importante modification est consécutive à la disparition d'une partie de la ferme lors de l'incendie de 2013.
Description
Le logis présente un plan carré flanqué aux quatre angles de tours carrées. Couvert en ardoises, comme la chapelle, il est accompagné de communs couverts en longs pans et tuiles mécaniques, plus récents qui ferment sur trois côtés la cour d'honneur. La toiture du logis est à forte pente mais la charpente a été refaite au 20e siècle (charpente moisée) avec le même profil. L'édifice est construit en moellon enduit sans modénature spécifique. A l'arrière des communs, deux autres bâtiments de communs délimitent une cour secondaire qui ouvre sur le potager en terrasse. A l'arrière du logis, se développe un élégant parc à l'anglaise qui conserve encore des essences d'arbres rares.

History
Dendrochronological surveys made it possible to reveal that the greater part of the castle was built at the limit of the 16th and 17th centuries. Adoménil early served as a suburban country house, close to the ducal court of Lunéville. Around 1677, the mention of a chaplain indicates the presence of a chapel. The land area has scarcely changed since the cadastre of 1839 except for the enlargement of the castle in two successive campaigns at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The most important modification is consequent to the disappearance of part of the farm following the fire of 2013.
Description
The main dwelling presents a square plan flanked at the four corners by square towers. Covered in slate, like the chapel, it is accompanied by outbuildings covered in long slopes and mechanical tiles, more recent, which close on three sides the honour court. The roof of the main dwelling is steep-pitched but the roof structure was rebuilt in the 20th century (assembled roof structure) with the same profile. The building is constructed in rubble stone render without specific mouldings.
