Jean-Baptiste, dit Eugène Corbin (1867-1952) , fils du fondateur des Magasins Réunis, loue en 1904 un "pied à terre", rue du Sergent-Blandan, pour y résider à la belle saison. La petite maison de sept pièces est augmentée en 1911-1912 de deux corps de bâtiments sur les plans de Lucien Weissenburger. L'édifice abritera le Musée de l'Ecole de Nancy. Situé dans le parc, l'aquarium a été vraisemblablement projeté dès 1904 par Weissenburger. Décorée de vitraux par Jacques Gruber, cette construction originale est précédée d'un ensemble de bassins aux contours irréguliers, avec lesquels elle forme un tout. Couronné d'un belvédère qui abrite une ombrelle vitrée, l'édifice, de plan circulaire, est construit en pierre de taille au parement irrégulier. La puissante corniche et la modénature vigoureuse des percements cintrés accentuent la rusticité de l'oeuvre, dont les verrières ont été déposées au Musée. Les bustes disposés sur des socles devant trois trumeaux des baies ainsi que les potelets dans l'axe des baies d'impostes sont des adjonctions. Au rez-de-chaussée, les aquariums sur consoles, de structure métallique, sont disposés devant les fenêtres. Le sous-sol est traité en rocaille, avec un bassin central structuré par des branchages rustiques en ciment. Cintré, un escalier métallique en vis, suspendu au noyau, donne accès à la terrasse par le sas cylindrique supportant la verrière. Dans le parc a été remontée une chapelle funéraire de style Art Nouveau, provenant du cimetière de Préville et conçue avant 1904 par Pierre Roche pour la famille Nathan. Ce petit monument allie la pierre de taille au bronze. Deux ouïes latérales s'agrémentent de verrières à décor floral.

History
Jean-Baptiste, known as Eugène Corbin (1867-1952), son of the founder of the Magasins Réunis, rented in 1904 a "pied à terre" on rue du Sergent-Blandan, to reside there in the fine season. The small seven-room house was enlarged in 1911-1912 by two building blocks on the plans of Lucien Weissenburger. The building would house the Museum of the School of Nancy. Located in the park, the aquarium was presumably designed as early as 1904 by Weissenburger. Decorated with stained glass by Jacques Gruber, this original construction is preceded by a set of pools with irregular outlines, with which it forms a whole. Crowned by a belvedere which houses a glazed parasol, the building, of circular plan, is constructed in ashlar with irregular facing. The powerful cornice and vigorous moulding of the rounded openings accentuate the rusticity of the work, whose glazed panels have been deposited in the Museum. The busts arranged on plinths in front of three mullions of the openings as well as the small posts in the axis of the transom openings are additions. On the ground floor, the aquariums on consoles, of metal structure, are arranged in front of the windows. The basement is treated as rockery, with a central pool structured by rustic branches in cement. With a rounded arch, a metal spiral staircase, suspended from the core, gives access to the terrace through the cylindrical airlock supporting the glazed panel. In the park has been reassembled a funeral chapel of Art Nouveau style, coming from the Préville cemetery and designed before 1904 by Pierre Roche for the Nathan family. This small monument combines ashlar with bronze. Two lateral sound holes are embellished with stained glass with floral decoration.
