Hôtel urbain avec communs et jardins, construit dans le second quart du 18e siècle par Michel-Jean du Mans de Chalais, receveur des greniers à sel de Laval. Hôtel doté de décors intérieurs et de boiseries de très grande qualité. D'autres lambris sont venus compléter le décor dans la seconde moitié du 18e siècle. L'emprise des jardins a perduré depuis le 18e siècle avec des transformations, notamment la création d'un jardin à l'anglaise et d'un jardin à la française (dans les années 1920).

History
Urban hotel with outbuildings and gardens, built in the second quarter of the 18th century by Michel-Jean du Mans de Chalais, receiver of the salt granaries of Laval. Hotel furnished with interior decorations and panelling of very great quality. Other panelling came to complete the decoration in the second half of the 18th century. The extent of the gardens has endured since the 18th century with transformations, notably the creation of an English-style garden and a French-style garden (in the 1920s).
