Ce théâtre Néo-Classique, inauguré en 1866, fut édifié selon les plans dessinés par l'architecte Charles Joly-Leterme, à la fin du 19ème siècle. La décoration de la salle à l'italienne fut confiée à Antoine-Victor Barbereau dit Saint-Léon, en 1864. Le plafond actuel de la salle à l'italienne a été repeint par René Rabault en 1941.

History
This Neo-Classical theatre, inaugurated in 1866, was built according to the plans drawn by architect Charles Joly-Leterme, at the end of the 19th century. The decoration of the Italian-style auditorium was entrusted to Antoine-Victor Barbereau known as Saint-Léon, in 1864. The current ceiling of the Italian-style auditorium was repainted by René Rabault in 1941.
