Historique
Edifice médiéval authentique qui a conservé une distribution par trois étages de galeries sur cour. Présence d'une communauté juive attestée à Mende entre 1229 et 1306 (expulsion des juifs du royaume de France par Philippe le Bel). Après 1310, la synagogue est affectée à une communauté de prêtres qui y demeurera jusqu'à la Révolution. Vendu comme bien national à la Révolution, l'édifice a été morcelé. Restauration dans les années 1970.

History
Authentic medieval building which has retained a distribution by three storeys of galleries on courtyard. Presence of a Jewish community attested in Mende between 1229 and 1306 (expulsion of the Jews from the kingdom of France by Philip the Fair). After 1310, the synagogue is assigned to a community of priests who would remain there until the Revolution. Sold as national property at the Revolution, the building was parcelled out. Restoration in the 1970s.
