Couvent créé par fondation royale en milieu protestant à la révocation de l'Edit de Nantes. La maison forme un ensemble religieux avec l'abbaye et l'église attenante. Elle permit, jusqu'à la Révolution, d'enseigner aux jeunes filles la lecture, l'écriture et les "devoirs de la religion". L'édifice de plan rectangulaire possède une aile de service prolongeant le bâtiment au nord.

History
Convent created by royal foundation in a Protestant region following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. The building forms a religious complex with the abbey and adjoining church. It permitted, until the Revolution, teaching young girls reading, writing and 'the duties of religion'. The rectangular-plan building possesses a service wing extending the building to the north.
