Historique
Le pigeonnier-fontaine est associé au manoir d'Estampes. C'est un édifice du 17ème siècle qui a été utilisé comme lieu d'habitation. Seul le niveau supérieur était réservé au colombier. Il s'agit davantage d'un édicule doté d'une tourelle d'escalier, dont les vestiges de décors peints, la cheminée en pierre et le sol de tommettes en font un lieu de vie qui dépasse la fonction habituelle de ce type de bâtisse à usage rural et utilitaire. La salle d'habitation est aménagée sous les combles et au-dessus d'un espace voûté officiant comme citerne afin d'alimenter un vivier situé sous la fenêtre. Les multiples fonctions de ce pavillon en font un lieu original qui n'entre pas dans la typologie traditionnelle des pigeonniers du Lot.

History
The dovecote-fountain is associated with the manor of Estampes. It is a building of the 17th century which was used as a dwelling place. Only the upper level was reserved for the pigeon house. It is rather an aedicule fitted with a stair turret, whose vestiges of painted decorations, the stone chimney and the floor of tommettes make it a living space which exceeds the usual function of this type of building used for rural and utilitarian purposes. The dwelling room is fitted out under the roof space and above a vaulted space serving as a cistern in order to supply a fishpond situated under the window. The multiple functions of this pavilion make it an original place which does not enter into the traditional typology of dovecotes of the Lot.
