Historique

History
Urban palace of the 14th century which belonged to the lord of Thémines then to the Balène family. Half of the building is sold to the town of Figeac and becomes the seat of the seneschalcy in 1402. It is used as a temple from 1576 to 1622 and subsequently as a prison and palace of justice, until 1880. Transformed into a hall of feasts around 1900, the building is undergoing works from 1903 to 1942; the Figeac architect Paul Bories realises the south façade closing the courtyard, the covering of the courtyard by a reinforced concrete terrace and the raising of a storey of the north building for the installation of a theatre. A new hall of feasts is arranged there from 1979, necessitating the creation of two "medieval" bays on the east façade.
