Le monument au physicien Antoine Becquerel a été inauguré le 18 janvier 1882, quatre ans seulement après la mort du grand homme. La souscription a été lancée à la fois en mémoire de l'enfant du pays, né à Châtillon et enterré dans le cimetière communal, et en raison de son rôle important dans le domaine scientifique, notamment dans les domaines de la minéralogie, de l'électricité et du magnétisme. History
The monument to the physicist Antoine Becquerel was inaugurated on 18 January 1882, only four years after the death of the great man.
