La fontaine, construite au-dessus d'un puits, date du début du 17ème siècle et serait un vestige isolé de l'ancien prieuré Saint-André de Mauves. Le puits est surmonté d'un édicule de plan carré ouvert sur les quatre côtés par une arcade en plein cintre, couronné par un entablement dorique, à frontons sur deux côtés, et supporté par quatre pilastres corniers. Un toit en tuiles creuses couvre l'ensemble.

History
The fountain, constructed above a well, dates from the early 17th century and is said to be an isolated vestige of the former priory of Saint-André de Mauves. The well is surmounted by an aedicule of square plan open on all four sides by a round arch, crowned by a Doric entablature, with pediments on two sides, and supported by four corner pilasters. A roof of curved tiles covers the whole.
