Statue de la Vierge érigée sur le rocher Corneille en 1857-1860 à l'initiative de l'évêque du Puy. Elle est moulée en fonte de fer, issue des canons donnés par Napoléon III après Sébastopol et s'élève sur 16 mètres de hauteur sans armature intérieure. Sculpture due à Jean de Bonnassieux, très académique. La statue de Monseigneur de Morlhon fait face à celle de la Vierge et a été érigée en 1864 par le même sculpteur.

History
Statue of the Virgin erected on the Corneille rock in 1857-1860 at the initiative of the Bishop of Le Puy. It is cast in iron, made from cannons given by Napoleon III after Sebastopol and rises to 16 metres in height without internal framework. Sculpture by Jean de Bonnassieux, very academic. The statue of Monseigneur de Morlhon faces that of the Virgin and was erected in 1864 by the same sculptor.
