La réalisation du canal du Berry a nécessité, tout le long du tracé, des aménagements techniques intégrant l'aspect paysager. Bien que déclassé par décret le 3 janvier 1955, le canal, partiellement comblé depuis, conserve un tracé encore lisible. De nombreuses constructions liées à ses activités ont disparu ou sont en voie de l'être, notamment les ponts-levis en bois qui permettaient de franchir le canal. Celui de Mennetou fut réalisé entre 1827 et 1834. Sa charpente a été remplacée entre 1885 et 1888 et son tablier est fixe depuis 1955-56.

History
The construction of the Berry canal required, along the entire route, technical arrangements integrating the landscape aspect. Although declassified by decree on 3 January 1955, the canal, partially filled in since, retains a still legible route. Many constructions linked to its activities have disappeared or are in the process of disappearing, notably the wooden drawbridges which allowed the canal to be crossed. The one at Mennetou was built between 1827 and 1834. Its timber structure was replaced between 1885 and 1888 and its deck has been fixed since 1955-56.
