Historique
Hervé II, seigneur de Vierzon reconstitua en 1213 un monastère de filles. C'est de cette époque que datent les parties les plus anciennes de l'église, construite à trois époques différentes. Le choeur et la travée de la nef qui le précède appartiendraient au 13e siècle, la nef au 15e et le bas-côté au 16e. Au 19e siècle, des modifications importantes ont été apportées au mur sud de la nef où toutes les baies ont été refaites et les murs intérieurs de l'édifice ainsi que les voûtes ont été recouverts d'un enduit décoré de faux joints. Le choeur et la travée qui le précède présentent des voûtes angevines du 13e siècle, très caractéristiques. L'abside de plan carré est couverte par une voûte en moëllons, bombée en forme de coupole, sur des arcs retombant sur des chapiteaux. History
Hervé II, lord of Vierzon, refounded a convent for women in 1213. The oldest parts of the church date from this period, built in three different phases. The chevet and the bay of the nave preceding it would belong to the 13th century, the nave to the 15th and the aisle to the 16th. In the 19th century, significant modifications were made to the south wall of the nave where all the openings were remade and the interior walls of the building as well as the vaults were covered with render decorated with false joints. The chevet and the bay preceding it present 13th-century Angevin rib vaults, very characteristic. The chevet of square plan is covered by a vault in rubble stone, domed in form of a cupola, on arches falling on capitals. Remains of 16th-century stained glass have been placed in the openings of the flat chevet.
