Historique
Longpré était un prieuré-cure de l'abbaye de Sainte-Croix d'Angles. L'édifice date probablement du 11e siècle. Il se compose d'une nef rectangulaire et d'un choeur à chevet plat. L'entrée est précédée d'un porche en pierre du début du 19e siècle. Le choeur possède une voûte lambrissée de la fin du Moyen-Age. L'église fait partie d'un ensemble dont il reste, à l'est, un vaste bâtiment d'habitation sans doute du 13e siècle mais réaménagé au 15e. Une porte murée sur le mur nord de la nef permettait l'accès au prieuré. L'édifice comporte un nombre important de décors et de peintures murales de toutes périodes. Les plus anciennes datent du 13e siècle, au-dessus de l'autel latéral nord de la nef. Le reste remonte à la fin du Moyen-Age et au début du 17e siècle. L'église est représentative des petits édifices de Beauce où l'aspect dépouillé de l'architecture est rehaussé par un décor peint abondant.

History
Longpré was a priory-cure of the abbey of Sainte-Croix d'Angles. The building probably dates from the 11th century. It consists of a rectangular nave and a choir with flat chevet. The entrance is preceded by a porch of stone from the beginning of the 19th century. The choir possesses a panelled vault from the end of the Middle Ages. The church is part of an ensemble of which there remains, to the east, a vast dwelling building probably from the 13th century but rearranged in the 15th. A blocked doorway on the north wall of the nave allowed access to the priory. The building comprises a significant number of decorations and wall paintings of all periods. The oldest date from the 13th century, above the north lateral altar of the nave. The rest dates back to the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the 17th century. The church is representative of small buildings in Beauce where the austere aspect of the architecture is enhanced by abundant painted decoration.
