Château situé sur une ancienne motte féodale, défense avancée de Châteaudun. Du château primitif restent l'emprise, les fossés et deux bâtiments de la basse-cour (grange et petite longère). Edification du château neuf entre 1610 et 1614. Edifice en pierre et briques, se composant aujourd'hui d'un corps central et d'un pavillon saillant. Autrefois, la plateforme d'implantation était entourée de fossés dont il ne reste que celui sur la façade principale. Des travaux ont été réalisés en 1855-1869, touchant la distribution intérieure. L'escalier monumental a conservé son emplacement, ainsi que le niveau semi-enterré des offices.

History
Castle situated on an ancient feudal motte, an advanced defence of Châteaudun. Of the primitive castle remain the footprint, the ditches and two buildings of the outer bailey (barn and small longhouse). Erection of the new castle between 1610 and 1614. Building in stone and brick, consisting today of a central body and a projecting pavilion. Formerly, the implantation platform was surrounded by ditches of which only the one on the principal façade remains. Works were carried out in 1855-1869, affecting the interior layout. The monumental staircase has retained its original position, as has the semi-submerged level of the service rooms.
