Fondée en 1806 par Antoine Normant-Marceille, la manufacture Normant a fonctionné jusqu'en 1969. La Porte des Béliers ou Porte Normant a été édifiée en 1900 par Benjamin Normant. De style éclectique, monumentale et décorative, elle est remarquablement conservée. Seule l'enseigne a changé : la partie 1800 - NORMANT- 1900 est cachée par un bandeau, un panneau MATRA Automobile sur fond bleu étant fixé dans la partie basse de la verrière centrale. La salle des métiers à tisser a été réalisée en novembre 1902, par l'entreprise Coutant et Cie, selon le procédé Hennebique.

Founded in 1806 by Antoine Normant-Marceille, the Normant manufacturing plant operated until 1969.
