Historique
La maison Calcat à Blois, située au lieu-dit anciennement Les Cormiers, a été édifiée pour le couple Calcat entre 1928 et 1932 sur un ancien vignoble des coteaux dominant la Loire. Edifiée dans un court laps de temps, elle présente une cohérence architecturale (seul le garage a été modifié) et par le choix de ses matériaux de même que par la cohérence des quelques éléments de sa décoration qui subsistent, elle reste un témoin du goût Art Déco tout à fait exceptionnel à Blois. Oeuvre des architectes Matrineau, qui comptent parmi les plus importants maîtres d'oeuvre de la Vienne et de la ville de Poitiers dans l'entre-deux guerres, elle apparaît comme une rare réalisation entièrement conçue comme demeure de son propriétaire. Elle bénéficie en outre d'une situation exceptionnelle, en fonction de laquelle elle a également été conçue.

History
The Calcat house in Blois, situated at the place formerly called Les Cormiers, was built for the Calcat couple between 1928 and 1932 on a former vineyard on the hillsides dominating the Loire. Built in a short space of time, it presents architectural coherence (only the garage was modified) and by the choice of its materials as well as by the consistency of the few elements of its decoration that remain, it remains a witness to Art Deco taste that is quite exceptional in Blois. Work of the architects Matrineau, who are among the most important master builders of the Vienne and the city of Poitiers in the interwar period, it appears as a rare realization entirely conceived as a residence for its owner. It also benefits from an exceptional location, in function of which it was also conceived.
