Historique
Située au sommet de l'ancienne motte castrale, l'église de Saint-Julien d'Armagnac est le seul témoin subsistant de la baronnie de Saint-Julien, attestée dès le XIIe siècle. Le château, brûlé et reconstruit au XVIe siècle, fut morcelé et vendu à la Révolution, transformé en presbytère puis démoli à la fin du XIXe siècle. L'église est dotée d'un clocher-mur triangulaire abritant les cloches, et d'un abat-son formant balcon. Des restaurations au début du XXIe siècle ont fait apparaître un décor de litres funéraires et de peintures murales du XVIIIe siècle, en partie mis à jour.

History
Situated at the top of the former castle motte, the church of Saint-Julien d'Armagnac is the only remaining witness to the barony of Saint-Julien, attested from the 12th century. The castle, burned and rebuilt in the 16th century, was parcelled out and sold at the Revolution, transformed into a presbytery then demolished at the end of the 19th century. The church is provided with a triangular wall bell tower housing the bells, and a louvre forming a balcony. Restorations in the early 21st century revealed funeral lisle decoration and wall paintings of the 18th century, partly exposed.
