History
Carmel built between 1853 and 1872 under the impetus of the Mother Superior who drew up the plans with the architect de Villeneuve. The buildings are organized around an entrance courtyard to the west, bordered by the western elevation of the chapel and around the courtyard of a cloister formed of open galleries integrated into four blocks of buildings for the purpose of residences or services. In the garden enclosed by walls, an axial avenue leads to the eastern extremity of the plot where are found the cemetery of the Carmelites and its funeral chapel.
