Ensemble architectural, mobilier et paysager créé par le poète et romancier landais Jean Rameau (1858-1942). Il acheta en 1898 une ferme près de Cauneille qu'il transforma entièrement, en faisant un véritable musée selon son imagination. L'aménagement intérieur, composé à partir de pièces de mobilier et d'oeuvres d'art ayant leur valeur propre, ainsi que de peintures et de sculptures de Jean Rameau, est une oeuvre artistique en elle-même. History
Architectural, furnishing and landscape ensemble created by Landais poet and novelist Jean Rameau (1858-1942). He purchased in 1898 a farm near Cauneille which he transformed entirely, making it a genuine museum according to his imagination. The interior arrangement, composed from pieces of furniture and works of art having their own value, as well as from paintings and sculptures by Jean Rameau, is a work of art in itself. Jean Rameau also arranged the exterior: plantations, construction of a kiosk and a pergola, sculptures and building of his tomb (the gloriette).
