Historique
Château construit à la fin du 13e siècle à partir d'une motte arasée. Il conserve l'un des rares témoins de tours-maîtresses élevées dans les Landes. La tour ne comporte plus que trois étages dont les £planchers ont disparus. Selon le dispositif habituel, la porte d'entrée se trouve au second niveau et était probablement accessible par un ouvrage en bois. A l'intérieur de la tour, la distribution devait se faire au£moyen d'escaliers en bois ou échelles de meunier. La fonction résidentielle était complétée par un logis, vaste salle rectangulaire établie à la limite nord du site dont il ne reste qu'un pan de mur conservé. History
Castle built at the end of the 13th century from a levelled motte. It preserves one of the rare examples of keeps erected in the Landes. The tower now has only three storeys whose floors have disappeared. According to the usual arrangement, the entrance door is located at the second level and was probably accessible by a wooden structure. Inside the tower, distribution was presumably by means of wooden stairs or ship's ladders. The residential function was complemented by a main dwelling, a vast rectangular hall established at the northern limit of the site of which only one section of wall survives. Its elevation indicates a structure with one ground floor and one storey. The ground-level courses determine an extent of approximately fifteen metres long by four wide. The castle, after serving as a farm, was sold as national property at the Revolution.
