Historique

History
The forge, attested from 1673, was re-established in 1724. Around 1800, it produced 900 tonnes of iron but produced only 600 in the mid-19th century. Metallurgical activity declined and, at the end of the century, the works turned to the production of electricity. Many buildings of the old forge were demolished after the Second World War. Vestiges of the installation of the hydraulic wheels of the forge are still visible. On the left bank, there subsist a rectangular building (former coal store then shop and dwelling) as well as old workers' dwellings. On the right bank, the owner's residence is complete and retains fittings and Restoration period decorations. The outbuildings developed in three buildings are said to have included a nursery for the workers' children. Finally, a neo-gothic chapel is located to the south-west.
