Une famille De Brans est attestée au 12e siècle. L'ancien château aurait été établi au lieu-dit Le Chatelot. Situé à proximité, l'édifice actuel, de plan en U, présentait une forme encore médiévale avec fossés et échauguettes. Au 18e siècle, ouverture de baies extérieures et suppression de la porte d'entrée avec pont-levis. A la fin du 19e siècle, le château est doté d'une tour et de décors intérieurs (deux salles néo-gothiques).

History
A De Brans family is attested in the 12th century. The old castle would have been established at the place called Le Chatelot. Situated nearby, the present building, with a U-shaped plan, still presented a medieval form with moats and corner turrets. In the 18th century, openings of exterior bays and removal of the entrance door with drawbridge. At the end of the 19th century, the castle was provided with a tower and interior decorations (two neo-Gothic rooms).
