Historique
Fondation du prieuré vers le milieu du 12e siècle. Le couvent avec cloître fut en partie ruiné par l'incendie de 1637. Les bâtiments conventuels furent totalement reconstruits de 1711 à 1715 par Dom Vincent Duchesne. Après la Révolution, on y installa la préfecture en complétant les bâtiments autour du cloître. L'entrée fut aménagée au nord-est en 1809. Les locaux se développèrent à l'est autour d'une deuxième cour en 1849 ; puis ce fut la construction du bâtiment des archives en 1895. Un réaménagement avec entrée pour le public a été réalisé dans les années 1970. L'entrée d'honneur avec portail monumental à grille en fer forgé se trouve au nord-ouest. Dans l'aile sud, un grand escalier en pierre à rampe en fer forgé donne accès aux appartements d'honneur de la préfecture qui comportent des décors.

History
Foundation of the priory around the middle of the 12th century. The convent with cloister was partly ruined by the fire of 1637. The conventional buildings were completely rebuilt from 1711 to 1715 by Dom Vincent Duchesne. After the Revolution, the prefecture was installed there by completing the buildings around the cloister. The entrance was arranged to the north-east in 1809. The premises developed to the east around a second courtyard in 1849; then came the construction of the archives building in 1895. A reorganisation with entrance for the public was carried out in the 1970s. The main entrance with monumental gateway with wrought iron grille is found to the north-west. In the south wing, a large stone staircase with wrought iron handrail gives access to the honour apartments of the prefecture which contain decorations.
