Le château, maison forte datant du 14ème siècle, est érigé par François de Revel sur le site de Barbarin. Il s'agit d'un vaste édifice, en galets et molasse, cantonné d'une tour ronde dont le bâtiment principal est un grand corps de logis rectangulaire résultant de plusieurs campagnes de construction : une tour quadrangulaire sur trois ou quatre niveaux correspond à l'état du 14ème siècle. Au 15ème siècle, on procède à l'adjonction d'un logis rectangulaire de deux niveaux. Enfin, la troisième phase, antérieure à 1586, correspond à la surélévation du logis et à la construction de la tour d'angle pourvue de bouches à feu qui défendaient l'édifice protégé par des douves. A l'intérieur, les salles du rez-de-chaussée conservent un plafond à la française et un décor de stucs. Enfin, au premier étage, un important décor peint composé de bandes verticales d'un rouge orangé très lumineux est dégagé en 2009.

History
The castle, a fortified house dating from the 14th century, was erected by François de Revel on the site of Barbarin. It is a vast building, in pebbles and molasse, flanked by a round tower of which the main building is a large rectangular main dwelling resulting from several campaigns of construction: a quadrangular tower on three or four levels corresponds to the 14th century state. In the 15th century, the addition of a rectangular dwelling of two levels is made. Finally, the third phase, prior to 1586, corresponds to the raising of the dwelling and the construction of the corner tower equipped with gun-ports which defended the building protected by moats. Inside, the rooms on the ground floor retain a French ceiling and stucco decoration. Finally, on the first floor, important painted decoration composed of vertical bands of a very luminous orange-red was revealed in 2009.
