Lors de la démolition de l'ancienne maison consulaire, deux cheminées monumentales du XVIIe siècle en gypserie, ont été installées dans deux salons communiquant au premier étage d'une maison bourgeoise construite à la fin du XIXe s. après la démolition des remparts sur les vestiges d'un immeuble antérieur dont il reste une tour d'escalier à vis présentant des baies à linteaux en accolade (du XVIe s.?). L'une est à la gloire de Louis XIV qu'elle représente en majesté (dans un relief assez marqué) ; le décor de la salle a été fait dans ce goût avec le chiffre et les insignes du roi-soleil. L'autre avec niche et angelot est placée dans une salle au décor de gypseries de style Louis XV en moulages plaqués (copies ou récupérations d'époque ?) comportant un dessus de porte d'angelots autour d'un pot à feu, reproduit plusieurs fois et des motifs de trophées champêtres.

When the old house of the consulate was demolished, two monumental fireplaces of the 17th century in plasterwork were installed in two communicating rooms on the first floor of a bourgeois house built at the end of the 19th century after the demolition of the ramparts on the remains of an earlier building of which a tower staircase remains, featuring openings with accolade lintels (16th century?). One is to the glory of Louis XIV, which it represents in majesty (in fairly pronounced relief); the decoration of the room was done in this taste with the cipher and insignia of the Sun King.
