Historique
Mausolée en pierre de taille, exhaussé en tronc d'obélisque, d'une hauteur de trois mètres. Les onze marches en granit gris s'étagent en deux volées de largeur décroissante, bornées par de lourds massifs latéraux à l'allure de sarcophages. Les façades arrière et latérales sont animées de fausses baies en plein cintre. Le socle, de plan carré, supporte un cénotaphe ouvert sur une profonde niche derrière une grille, évoquant un caveau qui abrite un groupe formé d'un gisant (soldat mort) veillé par une femme. Le dessin du projet est fourni en 1921, et les sculptures achevées en 1924-1925. L'installation définitive date de 1931.

History
Mausoleum in ashlar stone, raised in the form of an obelisk trunk, with a height of three metres. The eleven grey granite steps are arranged in two flights of decreasing width, bordered by heavy lateral masses with the appearance of sarcophagi. The rear and lateral facades are enlivened by false openings with round arches. The base, with a square plan, supports a cenotaph open onto a deep niche behind a grille, evoking a vault which contains a group formed of a recumbent figure (dead soldier) watched over by a woman. The design of the project was provided in 1921, and the sculptures completed in 1924-1925. The final installation dates from 1931.
