Erected in a neo-Gothic style in 1852, the Castel de Floirac (called "château Ledou" on old representations) was added to in 1924 with an Art Deco extension grafted onto its eastern and northern parts. In 1940, the Castel is rented by gallery owner Paul Rosenberg who receives Braque and Matisse there. The Castel is subsequently occupied by the Germans. Acquired by the commune of Floirac in the 1950s, it is currently the subject of a renovation project.

On the exterior, the Castel de Floirac is very marked by the superposition of two very different architectures: the neo-Gothic to the West, with significant sculpted decoration, notably openings with mullions, corbels, a gargoyle, as well as a stair tower, and fairly spare Art Deco architecture to the East and North, however containing some decorative elements (mainly at the level of planters and balconies). On the interior, one finds on the main floor the same contrast between on the one hand the part dating from the 19th century where there is a room decorated with 18th-century style woodwork, and on the other hand the more recent part comprising rooms created in an Art Deco style, notably a monumental staircase cage and completed by a glass roof ornamentally decorated in a graphic and very spare manner. The upper parts of the Castel are in contrast occupied by former apartments now abandoned but still counting mouldings and fireplaces.
