La tour du télégraphe Chappe, qui s'élève dans le parc de l'Institut des Jeunes Sourds, est le seul relais existant encore des lignes télégraphiques installées en Gironde. Elevée en 1825, elle se présente sous la forme d'une tour circulaire d'une dizaine de mètres de hauteur et d'un diamètre de cinq mètres. History
The Chappe telegraph tower, which rises in the park of the Institut des Jeunes Sourds, is the only existing relay of the telegraph lines installed in Gironde. Built in 1825, it takes the form of a circular tower about ten metres in height and five metres in diameter. The interior staircase and the arm of the mechanism were restored a few years ago.
