La chapelle est le seul élément encore existant d'un vaste domaine édifié par Léon Lesca, entrepreneur de travaux publics, à son retour d'Algérie, à partir de 1864. Il comprenait une grande villa de style mauresque, surnommée le "palais des pachas", une école, un presbytère et des logements pour le personnel, entourés d'un vaste parc planté d'espèces rares et nouvelles. History
The chapel is the only surviving element of a vast estate built by Léon Lesca, a public works contractor, on his return from Algeria, from 1864 onwards. It comprised a large villa of Moorish style, nicknamed the "palace of the pashas", a school, a presbytery and housing for staff, surrounded by a vast park planted with rare and new species. Built in 1884-1885 by architect Ormières, this chapel reflects the Orientalist fashion which developed in the Arcachon basin in the second half of the 19th century. It is the only religious building which uses this decorative repertoire, blending Arabic and Christian motifs and symbols.
