Aérium créé par la fondation Wallerstein pour accueillir des enfants débilités et menacés par la tuberculose. Fruit d'une collaboration entre le corps médical et les architectes Duval et Gonse, l'aérium est construit en bordure du bassin d'Arcachon et est ouvert en 1913. Dans les années suivantes, des extensions (réalisées par les mêmes architectes) s'ajoutent au premier corps de bâtiment, face au front de mer, en créant une longue façade à redans à un seul niveau avec galeries ouvertes pour les cures héliomarines. History
Aerium created by the Wallerstein foundation to welcome weakened children threatened by tuberculosis. The result of a collaboration between the medical profession and the architects Duval and Gonse, the aerium is built on the edge of the Arcachon basin and opens in 1913. In the following years, extensions (carried out by the same architects) are added to the first building, facing the seafront, creating a long stepped façade at a single level with open galleries for sun-sea cures. The buildings have been abandoned since 1981.
