Historique
Ce pigeonnier est implanté à l'entrée de la ferme située à l'arrière de la demeure où vécut le paléontologue gersois Edouard Lartet. Cet édifice, élevé dans les années 1870, prolongé par un hangar, est bâti sur un socle rectangulaire à deux niveaux surmonté d'une tour carrée. D'aspect élégant, il est construit à partir de matériaux traditionnels (pans de bois, brique crue) et industriels (briques creuses et tuiles mécaniques). L'ensemble est enduit de terre et armé de poutres de bois. Le décor est assuré par de simples planches de bois arrangées en X et appliquées sur le mur en brique. Une échelle de bois permettait l'accès à l'étage jusqu'au poulailler. Les dispositions d'origine à l'intérieur du bâtiment n'ont pas été préservées.

History
This dovecote is located at the entrance of the farm situated behind the residence where the Gascon palaeontologist Edouard Lartet lived. This building, constructed in the 1870s and extended by a hangar, is built on a rectangular base with two levels topped by a square tower. Of elegant appearance, it is constructed from traditional materials (timber framing, raw brick) and industrial materials (hollow bricks and mechanical tiles). The whole is rendered in earth and reinforced with wooden beams. The decoration is provided by simple wooden planks arranged in an X pattern and applied on the brick wall. A wooden ladder allowed access to the upper level up to the henhouse. The original interior arrangements of the building have not been preserved.
