Built between 1878 and 1880 according to the plans of architect Raymond Castex, the Luchon casino adopted the general disposition of a project by Edmond Chambert from a few years earlier: a T-shaped plan articulated on a long façade gallery punctuated by pavilions, a theatre room arranged in depth which was to constitute the principal attraction of the establishment. This building, constructed in brick-stone in a classical historicist style, was enlarged in 1929 by architect Henri Martin by means of a concrete structure added to the front façade, giving it an Art Deco colouration. Inside, the building has been modified several times and brought up to date: preserved in a state close to the original are the grand staircase, the theatre room, the veranda with stained glass by Gesta on the ground floor and the Tunisian salon on the first floor. Around the casino, also preserved are the park laid out by Chevallier around a serpentine pond with an artificial grotto, the two classicist entrance pavilions on the Allée des Bains, the "Norman pavilion" designed in one of the neo-regionalist styles in fashion in the early 20th century.
