Historique

History
Bridge with round arch vault typical of the late 17th century, which could date back to the construction of the Canal. It shows traces of the destruction of its vault by Soult's army following the battle of Toulouse of 10 April 1814, and its reconstruction in 1821. Cattle trough attached upstream of the left bank abutment. The engineering works, whether bridges, locks, aqueducts, spillways, upstream or downstream of the Naurouze basin, constitute the most evident part of the identity of the Canal du Midi: throughout its course, and even on the feeder channels (test channel, Montagne channel and Plain channel), these various works present a standardization of dimensioning by type of work and a standardization of construction which makes the unity of the Canal. With regard to the works situated on the test channel, they are part of the first campaign of works and therefore present great interest for the history of the Canal.
