Qualité de la réalisation architecturale et des matériaux employés pour cet aqueduc-siphon du 18e siècle qui permet le passage sous le Canal du Midi des ruisseaux des Rosiers et de la Joncasse. Aqueduc siphon construit en 1734-1735 par la province sur les plans de Clapiès. Ouvrage remarquable par la qualité de sa conception et son exécution, dans laquelle on trouve un des premiers emplois de chaux hydraulique. Il constitue, par ailleurs, un exemple de la compétition qui a mis au prise les ingénieurs du Roi et ceux de la province pour la maîtrise des travaux publics, ce qui s'est traduit par un ouvrage de qualité d'exécution irréprochable. History
Quality of the architectural achievement and materials employed for this 18th-century aqueduct-siphon which allows the passage beneath the Canal du Midi of the streams of the Rosiers and the Joncasse. Siphon aqueduct constructed in 1734-1735 by the province according to the plans of Clapiès. Remarkable work for the quality of its conception and execution, in which one finds one of the first uses of hydraulic lime. It constitutes, moreover, an example of the competition that pitted the King's engineers against those of the province for the mastery of public works, which resulted in a work of irreproachable execution quality. Heads partially degraded, but original masonry.
