La tour surveillait en particulier le gué de Martrouilh, près du moulin du chapitre de la cathédrale de Saint-Bertrand. La tour constituait aussi un élément défensif majeur du village fortifié. L'édifice est de plan carré, l'appareil est de moellons équarris régulièrement assisé avec de nombreux remplois, en particulier des éléments de marbre antique récupérés.

History
Vestige of the fortifications of Valcabrère constructed with reused elements from the ancient site of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges. The tower watched over in particular the ford of Martrouilh, near the mill of the chapter of the cathedral of Saint-Bertrand. The tower also constituted a major defensive element of the fortified village. The building is of square plan, the masonry is of regularly coursed squared rubble stone with numerous reused elements, in particular elements of ancient marble recovered.
