Le château et sa double enceinte occupent une partie notable du village encore très préservé qui porte le même nom. L'intérêt de cet ensemble, dont la silhouette domine la vallée de la Tave, réside dans la présence de ses fortifications et la préservation des espaces intermédiaires de ses murs de défense (fausses-braies). Du château, cité dès le 12ème siècle, subsiste la grosse tour utilisée pour partie, et fort anciennement, en glacière.

History
The château and its double enceinte occupy a notable part of the village which still bears the same name and is very well preserved. The interest of this ensemble, whose silhouette dominates the valley of the Tave, resides in the presence of its fortifications and the preservation of the intermediate spaces of its defensive walls (false-braies). Of the château, cited from the 12th century, there remains the large tower used in part, and very anciently, as an ice-house.
