Cette maison repose sur des bases anciennes (non datées) réaménagée probablement au cours du XIXe siècle, et en plusieurs étapes, selon le schéma des maisons de notables (harmonisation des volumes intérieurs et extérieurs, distribution, aménagement et décoration d'un étage de réception). Les décors peints du salon sont datés de 1922, mais on relève que la maison a pu faire l'objet d'un décor peint antieur (XIXe siècle) dont atteste le plafond de l'ancien vestibule. La maison a fait l'objet d'une utilisation continue et d'un partage, dans les années 1990, qui a occasionné des rénovations et modifications d'usage.
Description
La maison présente un plan en L, les appartements et espaces de réception étant dans le bâtiment principal, tandis que la partie en retour était à l'origine destinée aux cuisines et communs. Fondée directement sur le rocher, le bâtiment principal s'élève sur 4 étages au-dessus d'un rez-de-chaussée servant de caves. Le premier étage, toujours contre-terrier, est également à vocation fonctionnelle (caves, magasin), tandis que les appartements se situent aux étages supérieurs (l'étage de réception est au 2e étage, en rez-de-jardin au nord-ouest, tandis que l'appartement familial est au 3e étage). Au-dessus, sous combles, le grenier a été aménagé et ouvre sur une terrasse. Par l'effet de la pente du terrain, la partie en retour ne s'élève qu'à partir du niveau 2 du bâtiment principal. This house rests on ancient foundations (undated) reorganised probably during the 19th century, and in several stages, according to the scheme of notable houses (harmonisation of interior and exterior volumes, distribution, arrangement and decoration of a reception floor). The painted decorations of the salon are dated to 1922, but it is noted that the house may have been the subject of an earlier painted decoration (19th century) as evidenced by the ceiling of the former vestibule. The house underwent continuous use and subdivision, in the 1990s, which occasioned renovations and modifications of use.
Description
The house has an L-shaped plan, with the apartments and reception spaces located in the main building, whilst the return section was originally intended for kitchens and service areas. Built directly on the rock, the main building rises over 4 storeys above a ground floor serving as cellars. The first floor, still partly underground, is also given over to functional use (cellars, storage), whilst the apartments are located on the upper floors (the reception floor is on the 2nd floor, opening onto a garden at the north-west, whilst the family apartment is on the 3rd floor). Above, in the roof space, the attic has been fitted out and opens onto a terrace. Due to the effect of the slope of the land, the return section rises only from level 2 of the main building. The painted decorations of the salon represent historical scenes borrowed from the Napoleonic epic, three of which are inspired by paintings from the Galerie des Batailles at Versailles. They present the interest and originality of being dated and signed, in the salon, yet their attribution has not been settled, the documentation and oral tradition having retained Vladimir Mestchersky as the author, whilst the signature argues for an attribution to Nicolas Wilcke.
