Cet édifice, mis en service en mars 1875, fut bâti selon un projet conduit par Léonce Reynaud et participe à la signalisation maritime du Raz de Sein. Le phare se présente sous la forme dune tour carrée construite en grande partie avec des pierres extraites de lîlot. Sa particularité réside dans la présence dune maison dhabitation pour le gardien, ainsi que sa famille, accolée à la tour. Cette maison-phare, inspirée de la villégiature de bord de mer, est peu adaptée à des conditions climatiques aussi rudes. Vingt-trois gardiens se succédèrent sur le rocher en trente-cinq ans, jusquà son automatisation en 1910.

History
This building, put into service in March 1875, was built according to a project conducted by Léonce Reynaud and participates in the maritime signalling of the Raz de Sein. The lighthouse presents itself in the form of a square tower constructed largely with stones extracted from the islet. Its particularity resides in the presence of a dwelling house for the keeper, as well as his family, attached to the tower. This house-lighthouse, inspired by seaside holiday lodges, is poorly adapted to such harsh climatic conditions. Twenty-three keepers succeeded one another on the rock in thirty-five years, until its automation in 1910.
