Historique
Jacques de Thézac, ethnographe et photographe, prend conscience de la rude vie des marins pêcheurs bretons, dont l'une des conséquences est l'alcoolisme. Il créé l'oeuvre de l'Abri du Marin dont l'objectif est la construction dans divers ports principalement de Cornouaille, d'établissements d'accueil, de réunion et d'éducation. L'abri de Sein accueille à partir de 1900. La capacité du bâtiment s'avérant très vite trop réduit, un second bâtiment lui est adjoint en 1906. ce dernier contient deux grandes salles de jeux, un atelier de réparation et de traitement des voiles (préau) et un logement pour la famille du gardien. La première bâtisse est réservée à la bibliothèque. Les deux abris conservent, malgré la perte de la distribution intérieure d'origine, une grande authenticité architecturale.

History
Jacques de Thézac, ethnographer and photographer, became aware of the harsh life of Breton fishing sailors, one of the consequences of which is alcoholism. He created the work of the Shelter for Sailors whose objective is the construction in various ports, mainly of Cornouaille, of reception, meeting and education establishments. The shelter of Sein welcomed from 1900 onwards. The capacity of the building proving very quickly too small, a second building was added to it in 1906. the latter contains two large game rooms, a workshop for the repair and treatment of sails (covered courtyard) and accommodation for the keeper's family.
