La maison du passage Louis-Noir est une extension fin 16e-début 17e siècle d'une maison plus ancienne (du début du 16e siècle) qui subsiste, en l'espèce d'un mur mitoyen et de la cave, aujourd'hui éléments de la propriété du 9 rue Gambetta (parcelle cadastrée AC 339). Du corpus connu des maisons de négociants roscovites, elle est seule, avec celle du 25 rue Amiral-Réveillère, dite de Marie Stuart (notice Mérimée PA00090403) , à posséder une galerie dans la cour intérieure. Elle affirme son originalité par l'existence d'une galerie supérieure et la diversité des décors de ses chapiteaux de colonnes et colonnettes. Cette maison participe également au système de défense portuaire : anciennement en bordure de grève, elle est pourvue d'une échauguette dans un de ses angles.

History
The house of the Louis-Noir passage is a late 16th-early 17th century extension of an older house (from the early 16th century) which survives, in the form of a party wall and cellar, now elements of the property at 9 rue Gambetta (plot registered as AC 339). From the known corpus of houses of Roscoff merchants, it is alone, with that of 25 rue Amiral-Réveillère, known as Marie Stuart's house (Mérimée notice PA00090403), in possessing a gallery in the interior courtyard. It affirms its originality through the existence of an upper gallery and the diversity of the decorative schemes of its column and columnette capitals. This house also participates in the system of port defence: formerly bordering the shore, it is equipped with a watch turret in one of its angles.
